Abstract

The authors have studied the morphological changes in xenopericardium in purulent process in 9 patients with acute surgical diseases of abdominal cavity. It is established that the purulent exudate in the boundary between xenopericardium and body's own tissues gradually resolves and there appear giant multinucleated cells, over time, the area of blood vessels increases, i.e. there is a development of a granulation tissue - the predecessor of mature connective tissue.

Key words

xenopericardium, peritonitis, infiltration, granulation tissue.
